In Chapter 25 of Matthew's Gospel, Jesus reminds us that we will be judged by our works of mercy.
Our faith defines 7 corporal works of mercy: Feed the hungry, give drink to the thirsty, clothe the naked, shelter the homeless, visit the sick, visit the imprisoned, bury the dead.
There are opportunities at St. Catherine's to perform works of mercy, including:
• Providing food and/or serving at our monthly commitment to provide a meal, which alternates between the Salvation Army and Dismas House of Burlington
• Joining the St. Catherine's Team or pledging financial support for the annual COTS Walk for the homeless
• Visiting and/or sending notes to our homebound parishioners
• Knitting Prayer Shawls for our ill or homebound parishioners
• Assisting with Funeral Masses and Receptions by serving at Funeral Masses and providing food and/or serving at Funeral Masses
• St. Catherine's provides food, toiletries and financial support for the Shelburne Food Shelf and the Interfaith Christmas Project for Shelburne Families
Time Commitment: Make a dish once a month for suppers, or as needed; COTS Walk is an afternoon in May; visiting parishioners or sending notes as needed.
